home aims & objectives child development fees & times - funding information practitioner information - the nursery team policies send local offer ofsted report the nursery day practitioner qualities nursery holidays find us newsletter (summer 2019) ~~~~~ register your interest ~~~~~ complete a registration form online ~~~~~ -- nursery closed today friday 19th january unfortunately due to an outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea amongst the staff team we have taken the decision to close the nursery today. we plan to reopen on monday morning as usual - however any changes to that decision will be shown here please remember - should your child come down with any sickness or diarhhoea, either now, or in the future, they must be kept away from nursery for at least 48 hours after the last bout. this is accordance with both nursery health and safety policies and national health guidelines. -- we're part way through the first half term already so just a couple of things for you to make a note of ... firstly, please make sure that your child has appropriate clothing for the cooler weather as we do still go outside to play. a coat and wellies are definitely required, please make sure these are all clearly labelled and, if the wellies could be left at nursery, that would be even better !! we are now a confirmed provider for families qualifying for the extended 30 hour funding scheme - please visit our 'funding' page for more details. as such, we now stay open until 1.00pm on a monday, so if you would like to extend your session until then, whether or not you qualify for the extended hours, please let us know. the new term dates for the year ahead are on the 'nursery holidays' page - please get those dates in your diary. the 'updated' themes for the term ahead are also available on the 'weekly planning' page. -- -- welcome to the plume avenue nursery website !! as most of you will now be aware, the church suffered a break-in last night (wednesday) so we unfortunately have had to cancel today's session while we await the police. having spoken to the minister & church elders we can expect to be open tomorrow for the leavers celebrations but please check back here for any changes to that plan !! for those children and families not going to 'big school' next term - have a great summer break and see you all in september. if you need to get in touch in the meantime, please do email us - we will be checking the emails over the next six weeks so hopefully will be able to get back to you. and finally, for now at least - many thanks indeed for all the cards and gifts we have received - they are all hugely appreciated. all the best to all of you - have a good summer holiday .... steve & all the staff at plume avenue and so into the last week of term !! another reminder that we close for the summer break on thursday 18th july as the last day. there is also the 'leavers morning' on friday 19th for those children going off to 'big school' - this will start at nine and finish before lunch - please remember that a parent or carer must stay for the whole morning. also, someone in their infinite wisdom has decreed this to be a water play week, possibly ending thursday with a 'bit of a water fight' - so, please bring changes of clothes for your children and also note i will be staying indoors the whole time !! ~~~~~ another reminder to everyone to please label everything !! we do try very hard to keep an eye on all the children's belongings but finding them and matching them to their owners is becoming increasingly difficult. as mentioned previously this term, please apply suncream to your child before nursery - this does then allow us to let them get out into the garden as soon as possible and not have to wait to be creamed up first. we will of course 'top up' throughout the day if necessary. please ensure your child(ren) are suitably dressed for nursery whatever the weather, with spare clothing if at all possible. ~~~~~ toys from home !! while we appreciate these can be somewhat of a 'comfort blanket' for some children, it seems that more and more children are bringing in either toys or dressing up outfits from home. ideally we would prefer that neither come in at all as we are experiencing more and more losses, especially with unlabelled outfits or toys being put down and then picked up by someone else. sometimes these end up going home with another child or packed away with our own toys and equipment. with up to 45+ children on site, we are unable to constantly monitor the whereabouts of toys throughout the session and respectfully advise that we cannot be held responsible should they go missing !! also, another reminder about 'super hero' outfits. we have requested previously that you refrain from sending your children in wearing these - we don't have any issue with superhero play as such, but the wearing of the outfits seems to increase the level of 'boisterous' play that can be overwhelming and in some cases frightening for some of the children. we appreciate your cooperation in this matter. -- ~~~~~ due to a church visit, nursery will be closed on thursday, 17th january 2019 for the whole day !! we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, we have only just be made aware. -- a couple of new links on the menu for you ... there is now the option to complete your registration form online - so if you're new to the setting or have major changes you'd like to make to your registration details, please follow that link and send us a form. there is also a much shorter form for you to register your interest in sending your child to plume avenue. complete that form and we'll get back to you within a few working days to have a chat about what's available and how you can come along for a visit. -- ~~~~~ as the weather is starting to look a little changeable, please make sure your children are appropriately clothed for the weather, and prepared for any eventuality !!
